Diary of a Young Girl Anne Frank
The Secret Annexe where the Frank family hid from the Nazis.
Monday, 20 March, 1944 '' You always do help me,'' he said. ''How?'' I asked, very surprised. ''By your cheerfulness.'' That was certainly the lovelliest thing he said. It was wonderful, he must have grown to love me as a friend, and that is enough for the time being.
Sometimes while reading the book you get the feeling that Anne is boy crazy and thinks very highly of herself (particularly in the beginning), but as the book moves on she falls in love with Peter (she may seem boy crazy but is only in love for the first time).
The Diary of a Young Girl was a romantic, sad, and realistic book. That showed that no matter where you are when you are a teenager your thoughts are similar to every other teenager's thoughts. By reading this book we all noticed that we think the same sort of things as Anne did even though she lived during a time when people were truly horrible.
Saturday, April 1, 1944 I am so longing for a kiss, the kiss that is so long in coming. ( Anne is talking about wanting Peter to kiss her ;-)
